Me... I'm Susan Howey and I taught 4th grade for the last 20 years at Trombly. Prior to my time at Trombly, I taught 1st grade for 7 years in the Chicago Public Schools. My Bachelor's degree is from Michigan State (Go Green!) and my Master's Degree (in Reading & Learning Disabilities) is from DePaul University. I attend many hours of professional development in areas that I'm passionate about, like educational technology (yes, I'm a nerd!), project based learning ,and the growth mindset. I LOVE teaching, my dog Finn, friends & family, travel, Scrabble, our student-run business Fan Faces, food, golf, reading, and laughter.:)
My dog...Finn, Finnegan, Mr. Fur Pants is super awesome! Finn is a rescue from Kentucky, and he's part sheltie, terrier, and border collie. He turned 3 years old in June, so he's a big boy now! Finn LOVES the water and has his very own pink princess pool. He loves to sit on the back while we paddle Lake St. Clair, Lake Huron, "up north" and more!
